Starwood Retail Partners Announces The Commons at SouthPark, $14 Million Redevelopment Unveils New Tenants
February 19, 2016 / Strongsville, OH – When Starwood Retail Partners purchased the former Giant Eagle grocery store across from its SouthPark Mall last year, the company named the 66,139-square foot location The Commons at SouthPark and knew it would enhance mall’s ability to further serve the area’s growing needs.
Today, Starwood Retail Partners and SouthPark Mall are pleased to announce five new tenants opening this spring and summer at The Commons at SouthPark, including Ohio’s first Core Greens, Grains & Bone Broth restaurant.
Openings begin in April with two nationally-known retailers – Michaels, the nation’s foremost crafts store, and the Designer Shoe Warehouse, DSW. Both stores, 19,000+ and 18,000+ square feet, respectively, anchor the new development.
The Vitamin Shoppe opens in April, followed by Core Greens, Grains & Bone Broth in June. Known for healthy, tasty eating, Core sources food locally, makes each meal from scratch and brings great tasting foods to customers every day. The Rail, which also opens in June, is famous for its burgers, beer and milkshakes. It offers delicious sandwiches, appetizers, salads, and desserts in a relaxing atmosphere and is a favorite among residents.
“SouthPark Mall and The Commons at SouthPark complement each other, and we are delighted with the response we’ve received as we further enhance the community’s overall shopping and dining experiences,” said Scott Wolstein, CEO, Starwood Retail Partners. “Strongsville is a growing community, and our vision for our SouthPark is in step with the area’s business, shopping and entertainment plans.”
Grand opening celebrations for The Commons at SouthPark and its new tenants will be announced in early spring.
SouthPark Mall features a 14-screen Cinemark theater and more than 170 stores and restaurants including Macy’s, Sears, Dillard’s, PINK, Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, Kay Jewelers, Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Justice, and Forever 21.
