Great Northern Mall: 40 Years Old, Forever Young

October 18, 2016

It may be the understatement of the year that it's been a busy summer for Cleveland, host to the recent Republican National Convention. In the retail world, Great Northern Mall in North Olmsted, on the city’s “West Side” is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a slew of retail openings geared toward its younger shoppers.

That’s not surprising given that this super-mall draws families from two counties, encompassing some of Cleveland’s most affluent communities. With the area’s largest Forever 21, only Disney Store and several other unique-to-market shops, Great Northern literally has something for everyone!

The remodel of Express was completed in June, while Cinnabon made a sweet debut. Journeys too completed a renovation, while Zumiez and Journeys Kidz opened new stores Great Northern. This continues ongoing redevelopments begun prior to Starwood Retail’s 2013 acquisition of the center, including the redevelopment of the dining court in 2011, and the addition of a Regal cinema in 2013. Look for more restaurants and shops in the near future!
